A DAY IN MY LIFE ||OBGYN ROTATION

Hola amigos, como estas??????

School is stressing my entire existence out but 2 more months sha insha Allah. Today, I’m going to decribe how my typical weekday goes (or at least attempt to). I’m always forgetting to call someone back or check up on another or reply the third and the only excuse I always come up with is ‘I was busy’ after which i’ll then proceed to apologize but the thing is, its actually not an excuse, its a legit reason( yeah, fight me lol ). So……

In this rotation, we have three groups – Surgery group ,Inpatient group and Outpatient(polyclinic) group. I was in the polyclinic group for the week.

7:30-8:30 am – My alarm goes off somewhere around 7:30 and I roll and grunt for a while before finally getting up. I have my bath, pray, get dressed and head to the bus-stop.

8:30-9:00 am – The school bus arrives and takes approximately 30 mins to get to school so in the meantime, I look for a novel to read on my phone or a game to play or….wait for it…. imagine myself as a character from ‘the girl on the train’ ( if you’ve read the book then you have an idea of how i’m just staring at every building we pass )

9:00-10:00am – I’m at the polyclinic now, we basically just sit with the doctors as they consult and prescribe drugs and ask questions and of course get up every 5 minutes to go to the Ultrasound/examination room ( lets just say i’ve quite a lot of female parts to last a lifetime)

Stethoscope, scrubs, lab coat, name tag

10:00-12:00 – Lectures Lectures Lectures

12:00-2:00pm – Break! This is when I get to press my phone i.e check social media and gist with my friends ( which involves arguing about random ass questions sometimes)

Having a great time alone in the elevator
I live for the times I’m alone in the elevator, honestly, truly 😂

2:00-3:00pm – I’m back at the polyclinic and I’ll probably stay past 3 because an emergency surgery or a patient will delay our next lecture. At the polyclinic, we mostly see pregnant women coming for check up, ladies with menstrual irregularities and PCOS ( polycystic ovary – which is strangely common ), ladies coming for birth control prescription and those coming for Pap smear test.

3:00-5:00pm – Lectures Lectures Lectures ( most times, the doctors are stuck in the OR- Operating Room or with patients so they come almost an hour late and we end by 6 ish )

6:00-6:45pm – Bus ride back home ( I swear all I remember doing recently is dozing, homegirl is always tired )

6:45-9:00pm – cook / warm food from the fridge, pray, eat, press my phone, sleep

9:00-1/2:00am – Read all my lectures for the day. On most days, I don’t finish but I still go to bed anyway tori mi o le was para mi 😕 ( I can’t kill myself )

1/2:00- 7:30am – Set like 4 alarms ( or a little bit more if I’m being honest ), sleep and dream till the alarm goes off again!

Repeat 5 days a week! LOL! Please cry with me 😭😭

Anyway, don’t forget to leave a comment, like , follow , share and all that extra stuff! See ya xx
